Dear John,
So yesterday I got to send you something fun as we raised more than $1,100 from four photos of my cats. That totally made my (and especially my team's) day, so thank you so much to everyone who pitched in.
Today, I'm going to bring you into where we are in the final week of the campaign and what we need to do to win big November. (Tl;dr: Donate or volunteer. Your choice . [[link removed]] )
First: We've had some great broadcast television news coverage during the past week from our D/M/V affiliates for NBC [[link removed]] and ABC [[link removed]] , as well as DC News Now [[link removed]] . In each story, I highlighted my focus on fixing roads and feeding kids while highlighting my record of delivering results for my constituents.
Second: Speaking of broadcast, remember from my last state-of-the-race update that we knew the Republicans were planning to go up on broadcast and we'd be ready? Sure enough, they purchased $500,005 for broadcast TV and radio buys and another $28,799 for cable. Fortunately, we knew that was coming and threw down $500K+ to ensure our victory next week.
That was made possible not only because we had support from our caucus and some of our top donors but because the donations you've made since we launched this campaign May 9, 2022.
The money we raised from you allowed us to make payroll, print walk lit, cover overhead and pay for hundreds of thousands of dollars we spent on direct mail, digital, streaming and cable ads while freeing up our partners at the Virginia Senate Democratic Caucus to prioritize funding the most expensive and competitive races in the state. We knew fully well that when the time would come, they'd be there to help us go on broadcast and the caucus has our back.
The more money we raise on our own during this final week, the less help we need from our partners, so please keep pitching in whatever you can, whether it's $10, $25, $50, $100 or anything more [[link removed]] . We're truly grateful for all of your support.
Finally: We're now at the point of the campaign where we've completed a month of Get Out the Vote dry runs, our field team is firing on all cylinders, and we're ready to execute our full-fledged GOTV program. That's where you come in: If you can knock doors, make phone calls, send text messages or greet voters at the polls for us on Election Day, then please reply to this email and I'll put you in touch with our field team.
