We thought the Trump administration’s proposal to betray vulnerable gray wolves was as bad as it could get.
But there’s a new danger: Congress is now playing politics with wolves’ lives. Recently, two members of the House introduced a bill to immediately strip gray wolves of Endangered Species Act protections in the lower 48 states and turn future wolf conservation decisions over to the states.
If this bill passes, wolf recovery could come to a standstill – and even more wolves will die.
If Congress lets a handful of special interest groups succeed in pushing their agenda, the wolves we love could be abandoned to the mercy of anti-wolf states.
We’ve seen what lies in store: More wolves maimed and killed in traps. Wolf kill funds. Packs gunned down from helicopters and poisoned with cyanide, their pups left to starve.
In some states, this reality is already here. We’re fighting back – but we need your help to hold the line against this new threat in Congress.
