Hi,

Representative Rashida Tlaib has been the target of relentless,
Islamophobic attacks over the past weeks. Tomorrow, the House will vote on
a motion to censure her, introduced by far-right MAGA Republican Marjorie
Taylor Greene.^1

Greene’s resolution baselessly accuses Tlaib of “antisemitism” because
Tlaib has been outspoken in her calls for a ceasefire in Gaza to protect
all civilian lives. Greene also accused Tlaib of “inciting an
insurrection” because she spoke at a peaceful outdoor rally organized by
Jewish-led anti-war organizations.^2

Tlaib is the only Palestinian-American member of Congress and has been one
of the leading voices demanding a ceasefire.^3 Over 80,000 Demand Progress
activists have already taken action and joined her in calling for an
immediate ceasefire.

We must defend Tlaib against these attacks from Marjorie Taylor Greene and
other MAGA Republicans.

Greene's censure resolution is full of dangerous lies. It isn't just
Islamophobic and bigoted, it also attacks Jewish anti-war activists.^4

The fact that Taylor Greene once blamed wildfires on “Jewish space lasers”
and has described herself as a “Christian Nationalist” makes her
accusation that Tlaib is antisemitic even more transparently absurd.^5

A recent poll found that 80% of Democrats support a ceasefire. 18 members
of Congress and human rights organizations like Amnesty International have
also joined the call for a ceasefire.^6 Now more than ever, we need
Rashida Tlaib’s leadership in pushing for peace. We must stand with her
against Republicans’ vicious attacks.
