Israel used the Arrow missile defense system to intercept an incoming missile from the Houthis in Yemen – the fourth front used by Iranian-backed terrorists to attack Israel in the past three weeks.
The House must pass a bill that is the first step in the process to provide $14.3 billion in emergency funding for Israel.
A ceasefire now would keep Hamas armed, in power, and capable of committing more atrocities.
Dear A.,
The Israel Defense Forces continues to make significant progress during its ground operation in Gaza. Today, one of the senior Hamas commanders responsible for October 7 was killed, as were scores of other terrorists.
Tragically, two Israeli soldiers were also killed and two more are severely injured.
Hamas has continued its attacks on the Jewish state. The terror group fired rocket barrages across Israel, sending millions to their shelters. The booms of Iron Dome filled the sky as the life-saving system kept countless Israelis safe.
For the first time in this conflict, Israel used the Arrow missile defense system, funded by Congress and jointly developed with the U.S., to intercept an incoming missile attack from the Houthis in Yemen – the fourth front used by Iranian-backed terrorists to attack Israel in the past three weeks.
The House is expected to vote this week on a bill that is the first step in the process to provide $14.3 billion in emergency funding for Israel. House members will also vote on a package of legislation to increase the pressure on Iran – including the SHIP Act, which aims to cut off the flow of oil money to the regime.
URGENT ACTIONS TO TAKE:
Even if you’ve already contacted Congress, please do so again each day!
Urge the House to vote for the security aid package for Israel.
Urge the House to vote for the SHIP Act and other key Iran legislation.
Today, the Senate held its first hearing on the president’s emergency aid request. Secretary Blinken was asked about calls for a ceasefire, and he gave a clear and strong response.
"A ceasefire in this moment…would simply consolidate what Hamas has been able to do, and allow it to remain where it is, and potentially repeat what it did another day…And that's not tolerable. No nation would tolerate it," Blinken said.
Those calling for a ceasefire now often conveniently ignore that a ceasefire was in place on the morning of October 7, before Hamas blasted through the security fence and massacred 1,400 Israelis.
Earlier today, Benny Gantz – who joined the government’s emergency war cabinet – gave a passionate address about this moment in history. Click here to watch his 2-minute remarks.
"Like every Jewish generation, we will outlive this evil too. The one and only Jewish state will prevail. As I speak, our sons and daughters endanger their lives to ensure our survival, to defend our homeland and our families. They fight. We fight for a future free of terror, a future free from Jewish fear."
