UNFPA condemns the violence in Israel and Gaza and echoes the UN Secretary-General’s call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, for the immediate and unconditional release of hostages by Hamas, and for the delivery of sustained humanitarian relief at scale that meets the needs of the people of Gaza.

In any crisis, we are worried about all impacted people. But at UNFPA we have a particular concern for the safety and wellbeing of women and girls. In times of conflict, and especially war, women and girls are among the most vulnerable. Their risk of experiencing violence skyrockets, they lose access to critical maternal health care, and, far too often, women and girls are stripped of their basic dignity.

UNFPA is on the ground delivering lifesaving care in crisis-stricken regions around the world, including in Gaza, where the health care system is on the brink of collapse.

The escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza is growing more dire by the day.

We are committed to getting lifesaving reproductive health supplies into Gaza. But at this moment, our emergency appeal is only 37% funded. Before October ends, I’m urgently calling for your support with hundreds of thousands of women and girls counting on international aid.

Will you make an emergency gift to continue delivering lifesaving care, kits, and resources to crisis-stricken areas of the world like Gaza? I’m sharing a personal link you can use to make a donation: [link removed] [[link removed]]

Thank you for being there for women and girls.
