After six months of bargaining and moments away from walking out on strike UFCW Local 400 finally won a strong contract with Safeway on Thursday! Together with the new Giant contract UFCW Local 400 members have shown the power of solidarity. By standing strong against Safeway’s Wall Street overlords workers stopped:
❌ The gutting of their pension
❌ Freezing pay for new hires at min. wage
❌ Capping hours for part-time workers to lock them out of benefits
❌ Increasing the cost of healthcare
There is power in a union. All of us at DC JWJ send love and solidarity to our union siblings over at UFCW Local 400.
