Cease-fire Nonsense

It is absolutely clear now that the Biden White House and virtually every European government wants Israel to back off and back down in its war against Hamas.

Insiders are saying that Israel is under intense pressure to announce a cease-fire.  In some cases, the White House and European governments are motivated by fear of what they’re seeing in the streets of our major cities.

The pro-Hamas mass demonstrations in New York, London, Paris and Berlin have shocked political observers across the spectrum.  They’re worried about the potential political fallout.  They think if they can just get Israel to end this, the demonstrations will go away and everything will return to normal.

I know this is the view at the State Department.  Sadly, I suspect it is the view at the increasingly woke Pentagon.

I believe the exact opposite is true, and the fact that our so-called “experts” don’t understand this is evidence that they don’t understand the religious element that is motivating Hamas and its sympathizers here and throughout Europe.

If Israel does not crush Hamas, the Islamic world will take that as evidence that “Allah is great,” and that the day when Allah will rule the world is drawing even closer.

You will see even larger demonstrations throughout the West of radicals dancing on the grave of Israel.  They will claim that Israel lost.  They will claim that “Hamas defeated the Zionist entity and all its might,” and you will see even more Hamas rockets fired in defiance at Israel.

Golda Meir once said, “If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel.”  She was right then and she is right today.

Pressuring Israel to accept a cease-fire is the last thing we should be doing.  The best way to end the “cycle of violence” is to end Hamas.

Civilization vs. Barbarism

The pressure coming from Washington must be intense because Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to the pages of the Wall Street Journal today to publicly make his case against a cease-fire with Hamas.  Here are some excerpts of his column:

“The horrors that Hamas perpetrated on Oct. 7 remind us that we won’t realize the promise of a better future unless we, the civilized world, are willing to fight the barbarians. . . Since Oct. 7, Israel has been at war.  Israel didn’t start this war.  Israel didn’t want this war.  But Israel will win this war. . .

“I want to make clear Israel’s position regarding a cease-fire.  Just as the U.S. wouldn’t have agreed to a cease-fire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor or after the terrorist attack on 9/11, Israel will not agree to a cessation of hostilities with Hamas after the horrific attacks of Oct. 7.

“Calls for a cease-fire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism, to surrender to barbarism.  That will not happen.

“The Book of Ecclesiastes says that there is a time for peace and a time for war. This is a time for war. . . Today we draw a line between civilization and barbarism. It is a time for everyone to decide where they stand.  Israel will stand against the forces of barbarism until victory.

“I hope and pray that civilized nations everywhere will back this fight.  Because Israel’s fight is your fight.  If Hamas and Iran’s axis of evil win, you will be their next target.  That’s why Israel’s victory will be your victory.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu also presented his remarks as an address to foreign media.  Watch it here.

Left-wing Lunacy

Of all the whacked-out, insane things I’ve seen at the Jew-hating, Israel-hating, America-hating demonstrations, the most absurd may well be the new Hitler youth holding signs that read “Queers for Palestine.”

Just a brief scroll through social media will bring up countless images of “Queers for Palestine.”

For example, the man with five o’clock shadow wearing a dress and lipstick, saying, “As a transgender individual, I stand with the Palestinians.”  Or a young lesbian with pink hair and multiple piercings giving a clenched fist salute, saying, “As a lesbian, I stand with the people of Gaza.”

These poor deluded and confused individuals have no idea what they’re embracing

If they ever had the misfortune of actually finding their way to Gaza to “stand” with the Palestinians, they would soon be separated from their heads by Hamas warriors.  They are completely clueless about that reality.

No doubt some of these students consider themselves part of Antifa, the radical left-wing movement that claims to be “anti-fascist.”  But what Antifa calls “fascism” is simply normal conservatism.

Antifa members “standing in solidarity with Gaza” are defending actual Nazis.  They are Hitler youth wannabes.

California Crazy

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in Los Angeles County, California, has reportedly developed a policy that no age is too young to ask children about their sexual orientation or gender identity.

That is the philosophy of the leftists running the largest state in our union.

Every child 10 years of age and older that comes into contact with DCFS will be questioned extensively about their sexuality.  And the information will be kept from their parents and guardians.

These children are already in crisis. That’s why DCFS is involved with them.  But now they want to compound whatever issues these already at-risk kids are confronting with radical LGBTQ ideology.

By raising these issues, they will intentionally or inadvertently lead some troubled children into the psychological disorder of gender dysphoria, which is guaranteed to make their lives worse, not better.

Speaking Up For Life

Speaker Mike Johnson is the epitome of the American Dream.  Unlike many politicians, he was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth.  He does not come from a political dynasty that enabled him to “inherit” public office, as so often happens.

In fact, Johnson’s upbringing was extremely modest.  Both his parents dropped out of high school after his mother became pregnant at 17.  But they had something special – faith in God.

While many young couples in that situation might have been tempted to choose the “easy way out,” Pat and Jeanne Johnson chose life.  Today, their oldest son, Mike, is now speaker of the House of Representatives.

When it comes to defending the sanctity of life, there are few in Congress as committed as Speaker Mike Johnson.

As he once explained, “I was actually the conception of a teenage pregnancy my parents’ junior year in high school.  And they dropped out, decided to have me, and keep me.  And that’s why I’m so pro-life today.  I’m a living example of faithfulness. . . They just trusted God.”

In related news, Speaker Johnson is keeping his promise to separate aid for Israel from additional funding for Ukraine.  House Republicans introduced legislation that provides an additional $14.3 billion to Israel as a standalone bill, which they hope to pass this week.

Even better, rather than adding to the national debt, it pays for the emergency aid by cutting Biden’s bloated IRS

But for whatever reason, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly opposes this brilliant idea.

I hope Speaker Johnson stands his ground.  Senate progressives are already demanding that a bigger bill funding “overseas emergencies” also include funding for their so-called “domestic emergencies.”
