John, here’s the thing.
When I first ran for office, I ran in a solidly red district - and despite the odds, I was able to flip it blue.
Once elected, I took on the Republicans in Austin, fighting against the bigoted “bathroom bill” and sticking up for trans kids and their families. I passed bills to make navigating the prescription drug system easier. I fought for the rights of sexual assault victims, and I authored a Medicaid expansion bill that would provide Texas families with affordable healthcare.
I was determined to make a difference for the people of Texas, and I accomplished that goal.
Now, I intend to keep fighting for Texans in D.C.
Since I announced my run for the seat vacated by Colin Allred, I’ve gained support from local and national organizations, unions, Texas legislators, and Members of Congress.
I have more support than any other Democrat in this race, but I’m facing a primary opponent with a lot of outside funding. Hitting every single fundraising goal is crucial, starting with tonight’s midnight end of month fundraising deadline.
So, I’m asking: will you make a donation right now to help us close our $3,000 budget gap before midnight?
