I’m Katrina Callsen, a lawyer, Teach for America alum, self-proclaimed military brat, and a New Power endorsed candidate for the House of Delegates in Virginia’s 54th District with Election Day right around the corner.
As a Deputy City Attorney in Charlottesville, VA and former Chair of the Albemarle County School Board, I understand the impact of complex state law and advocate for academic achievement and student empowerment. I have witnessed the consequences of denied rights and understand the importance of a dedicated representative fighting for our future — I’m proud to be that kind of servant leader.
Virginia is center stage in 2023, and we can’t afford to take our foot off the gas. Growing up in a military family taught me selflessness and belief in our country's potential. I know Virginia is capable of doing more for its residents, families, and students — we cannot ignore the importance of this election.
New Politics’ endorsement as a New Power candidate has changed the trajectory of my campaign since before the primary. With their support, I’ve been able to stay focused on connecting with voters and listening to our community.
