This Halloween, you’re sure to see all sorts of monsters, friend. But the scariest monsters of all aren’t hiding under your bed, behind the couch, or down a storm drain. They’re hiding in plain sight, dumping big bucks into lobbying for dirty energy, and they’re more spine-chilling than a vampire in a blood bank.

This spooky season, we’re asking for a treat, not a trick. Can you chip in a few dollars to help us banish Big Oil back to the depths from which they came?

For far too long, Big Oil has had a disastrous influence on California’s climate action. Even though a majority of the California legislature claim to support common-sense solutions to climate change, a whopping 63% of legislators accept contributions from Big Oil according to our 2022 California Environmental Scorecard — including 54% of Democrats.

We know for a fact that Big Oil is gearing up for a fight next year as they seek to rollback historic victories like the ban on drilling near homes and schools. And we know they’re hoping ordinary people will give up the ghost and let them bribe and buy their way to more drilling, fracking, and polluting in our communities.

But EnviroVoters members like you proved we don’t need a team of quirky scientists with proton packs to make the fossil fuel ghouls quake in their boots. Now we’re asking for your help again to ensure we have the resources we need to defend our victories, protect California communities, and score new wins in 2024.
