Dear Friend,? ? In our movements, we all need to take a moment to appreciate the wins we have and the leaders who are bringing us forward. That's why I am very excited about this years' awardees: ?Street Vendors Union, youth leader Genesis Lemus, Natacia Kapper, Painters District Council 51, Metropolitan AME Church, and the Woodner Tenants' Union.? ? Each person we recognize at the I'll Be There Awards is making meaningful and powerful change in our community. We'll gather together on November 14th to celebrate them and appreciate all the work it takes to make DC a better place for all of us. I hope you will join us in celebrating these amazing leaders. |
