Dear Neighbors,
Good news this week as many of the ongoing construction closures on Highway 169 in Elk River will reopen tomorrow, November 1st. While all of us are looking forward to the completed project, anyone who travels on 169 knows how much construction has impacted traffic on this stretch of road.
Information on the reopening is directly from MNDOT:
- All 169 freeway lanes ?northbound and southbound? will open between Main St. and 197th Ave. by Wed evening, Nov. 1.
- The Jackson/193rd Ave. interchange will open, includes the signal system and ramps?to/from southbound and northbound Hwy 169.
- The School Street ramps to/from Hwy 169 will open. Unfortunately, the School Street bridge over 169 will remain closed until mid?November due to revisions of the signal system on the bridge.
Motorists can expect periodic lane closures at off-peak hours as crews complete 2023 tasks along 169 but work operations will suspend for the 2023-2024 winter season once the ground freezes.
In the spring, crews will return to construct the last Highway 169 interchange at Main Street.
You can read more about the project here: visit the 169 Redefine Elk River project webpage.
