Today might be about some good-natured frights, but there are some truly scary facts about next week’s municipal elections that are keeping us up at night. Here’s the frightening truth:

Only
30%
of
us
showed
up
to
vote
statewide
in
the
last
municipal
election
in
2021.
*
Republicans
wrested
the
top
elected
post
from
Democrats
in
16
cities
and
towns
in
that
election,
despite
the
fact
that
Democrats
held
every
statewide
and
congressional
seat.
*
Republicans
now
control
58%
of
our
local
governing
bodies
in
a
state
that’s
overwhelmingly
blue.
*
Republicans
in
Connecticut
are
part
of
the
same
extreme
national
movement
that
is
banning
books,
restricting
reproductive
rights,
gutting
healthcare
and
Social
Security,
and
threatening
the
right
to
vote.
Scared yet? Don’t be. You have the power to make sure every city and town across the state reflects our shared Democratic values. Cast your vote for Democratic leaders on Nov. 7th that care about the same things you do—the freedom of choice and the education, health, and safety of our local communities.
It all starts with your vote one week from today.
