Dear A.,
As a key contact, we need your help today! On Thursday, the House is expected to vote on an urgent funding package for Israel.
ACTION NEEDED: Please take a few moments right now to call your House member(s) and urge them to vote YES on this important bill.
This vote is an essential first step in what is expected to be a series of votes to ensure Israel has what it needs to defend its citizens and win this war. Our ally is facing an unprecedented and daunting challenge, and this vote in Congress must convey America’s unequivocal support for our ally.
Members of Congress must understand the urgency and importance of this vote and any vote that includes this funding for Israel’s security.
Thank you for your continued leadership on behalf of the U.S.-Israel relationship. Below are some additional talking points and background that may be helpful for your conversations.
Sincerely,

Responding to Pushback
Response if a member raises questions or concerns about how the aid is being passed:
- I understand there are differing opinions about how the aid should be passed and what it should be included with.
- We are focused on one issue: ensuring that the assistance to Israel passes in an overwhelming bipartisan vote.
- This vote is part of a broader process, and I strongly encourage you to vote yes on this vote and any vote that includes the assistance to Israel.
Background
- More than 1,400 Israeli men, women and children were systematically slaughtered in ISIS-style raids across Israeli communities. More than 5,000 were injured, and at least 240 civilians and soldiers were taken hostage into Gaza.
- By population comparison, this was the equivalent of more than 50,000 Americans being slaughtered in the streets and their homes.
- At least 32 Americans were killed, and an unknown number are being held hostage in Gaza.
- Israel is responding to rocket fire from Gaza and Lebanon, and is initiating a sustained and large-scale ground operation to destroy Hamas.
- Hamas’ dream and Iran’s dream is that the narrative flips as soon as Israel takes action. Calls for a ceasefire plays into the narrative that Hamas is no longer the aggressor and is now the victim.

The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
