Now, he's been indicted on federal charges for traveling to Prague to allegedly rape a minor and receive images of child sexual abuse. The horrifying allegations are unfortunately in perfect keeping with the ethos of a Republican Party that increasingly appears to be little more than a shelter for predators, crooks, and treasonists.

Man kills himself instead of carrying out US amusement park shooting
In a disturbing story that could have easily been another mass shooting tragedy, a 20-year-old man was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Colorado on Saturday morning before it opened to the public. He was found in a women's bathroom, heavily armed with an AR-style rifle, a handgun, and explosives and was wearing body armor and tactical clothing.

Following the weeks-long public humiliation ritual of trying to pick a new House speaker after ousting their own leader, Republicans are taking steps to avoid a repeat performance. Under a new resolution, GOP House members want to make it harder to eject the speaker in the future by changing the threshold needed to bring a vote of no confidence. Ultimately though, this is little more than a bandage on their dysfunction. The GOP is still a party ruled by its fringe fascists and freaks who will surely find some other clever way to screw things up for themselves and the country.

Workers at a Tesla factory in Fremont, California, have formed an official organizing committee, and the United Auto Workers is stepping in to fund part of the effort. The news comes just hours after the union made a tentative agreement with General Motors, the last of the Big Three Detroit car manufacturers still in negotiations with UAW over a new contract.
