Let me be clear about the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson:

He’s a Republican extremist — and he’s nothing more than a puppet for the gun lobby in D.C.

I can’t say I’m surprised that this is who the Republicans selected as their new Speaker, John.

They’ve made it perfectly clear that big money matters more to them than the safety of our families and communities.

That’s why, now more than ever, we need bold and courageous leadership in Washington.

And I’m the Democrat who’s going to deliver that leadership for the people of Texas.

When Uvalde faced a horrific mass shooting last year, I worked with the community to fight back against Republicans' lies and their pathetic excuses for inaction.

And if you send me to Washington, I’ll fight with everything I’ve got to keep our children safe and end the gun violence epidemic that plagues our nation.
