Hi John, it’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I need to talk to you about something important.
And before you mention it, no, it’s not to reminisce about a spooky slasher film just because today is Halloween.
Instead, I want to share a bit about myself, and talk about the person I believe is best suited to serve as California’s next U.S. Senator: Adam Schiff.
I’m a lifelong Californian. Born in LA, raised in Sherman Oaks, and graduated from Van Nuys High School.
My parents encouraged me to be politically active from a young age. My mom, Jane Gordon, even ran for Congress here before I was born.
Recently, I’ve been advocating for AI Regulation, one of the key issues at the heart of the SAG-AFTRA strike. And so has Adam. He stood by the 160,000 members of our union. But he was also right to call the entertainment industry the “tip of the spear,” warning that job loss from AI could impact not just us actors, but so many other Americans as well.
And it wasn’t just lip service. Adam has joined the picket line. And time after time, he’s voted and introduced legislation to make the economy work for everyone.
I also binged Adam’s entire audiobook, Midnight In Washington, about the work he did to protect our democracy from those who were trying to dismantle it. And in my opinion, he deserves to be rewarded for putting himself in the line of fire.
I know Adam Schiff will be a Senator who will get things done. But first, we need to help him win this election. So John, I’m personally asking:
Will you make a contribution of $3 or any amount to support Adam’s campaign before his October fundraising deadline at midnight tonight?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
From disruptive technology, to the economy, to our climate, to our democracy itself, this election will be a pivotal moment for decades to come.
During this crucial moment, I’m going to keep staying involved by supporting Adam’s efforts, and I hope you will too. Thanks for reading.
