John, we can’t afford to let our guard down. Last time we were on the brink of a government shutdown, Republicans tried to use the deadline as leverage to cut Social Security Administration funding by 30%.

And it almost worked. The bill failed by a razor thin margin after receiving the support of 90% of Republicans!

There’s no doubt that they will try to make cuts once again, as we approach another government funding deadline. That’s why we MUST take a stand right now.
