John, in a moment I'm going to ask you to make your first contribution to my campaign for Senate, but first, let me explain why this is so important.

We are less than four months out from Election Day – and that means that every single moment of these next few months must be accounted for. We have so many TV ads to run, so many doors to knock on and so many rallies to hold – but doing all of these vital voter outreach efforts requires lots of resources. 

And listen, I never expected to raise the most in this race. Historically, Black women candidates fundraise just one-third of what white candidates do. I knew that going into this – but I also knew that I didn't need a war chest of millions and millions of dollars to reach voters with my message. I just need enough.

John, you can help me with that. Small grassroots contributions are how we go up against Adam Schiff's and Katie Porter's millions and stay competitive.

I know that $5 right now may not seem like that much, but I'll tell you what: If every person reading this email chips in just a couple of dollars before October ends and helps us hit our critical $250,000 goal, I'll be able to carry out some MAJOR decisions next month about how to spread our progressive message in every corner of the state.
