In Congress, I have led the fight to meaningfully address climate change and stop efforts to gut critical environmental laws that protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the incredible natural wonders we enjoy.

So today, I'm proud to announce that I've been endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund! The League of Conservation Voters has been fighting on the front lines of the environmental conservation movement for decades, educating the public and advocating for tougher environmental standards. They've achieved significant victories for our shared movement and it's an honor to fight by their side and to earn their important endorsement.

When the Trump administration tried to roll back emission standards, I pushed back. When they tried to jam through the catastrophic Pebble Mine Project that would devastate the pristine Alaskan wilderness, I spoke up, and questioned the head of the Corps of Engineers. I criticized their faulty Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and demanded a scientific and accurate EIS for this disastrous proposal. When they tried to sell our planet to the fossil fuel industry, corporate polluters, and dirty money special interests, I developed a green transportation and infrastructure plan that is being called the Green New Deal 2.0. When they tried to sell off our public lands and expand drilling, I secured a huge environmental victory when three of my bills were signed into law to protect 30,000 acres of Oregon old growth forest, 250 miles of wild and scenic rivers, and 100,000 miles of critical salmon and steelhead habitat.

In the most anti-environmental administration in history, I am taking significant action to combat climate change and fighting to implement an innovative and sustainable 21st century transportation plan. I released a bold framework that would invest $760 billion in infrastructure over the next 5 years to tackle our country's critical infrastructure needs while boldly addressing climate change and working to transition our country to a fossil fuel-free future.

From improving safety, to addressing the massive maintenance backlog, to putting the U.S. on a path toward zero emissions from the transportation sector and increasing climate resiliency, this is the framework that our country needs to implement the goals of the Green New Deal and to create millions of good-paying jobs.

Our planet is worth fighting for. You can guarantee that I'll be working with the League of Conservation Voters and a broad coalition of change makers to urgently address climate change and ensure that we provide future generations with a healthy, sustainable planet to thrive and enjoy.
