Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday forcefully rejected calls for a cease-fire as “calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism,” telling reporters that Israel was “fighting the enemies of civilization itself.” And, as the NYT reports, apparent advance toward Gaza City was heightening fears among those who remained in the enclave’s largest city. |
Israeli Hostage Freed
Israel announced on Monday that a soldier abducted by Hamas earlier this month had been rescued from the Gaza Strip in an overnight operation, the first captive taken in the terror group’s shock assault on October 7 to be freed by Israeli troops, as The Jerusalem Post reports. |

Hamas today released a chilling video of three of its hostages delivering a harsh statement addressed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with one woman almost screaming at the Israeli leader, as The Washington Post reports. |
