John,
Today, I’m announcing my re-election campaign for NC’s 4th Congressional District.
My roots in this district run deep. I ran for office after years of service to my community – advocating for North Carolina families on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools Board to the Orange County Board of Commissioners, to serving in the North Carolina state House and then state Senate.
In Congress, I’ve remained steadfast in my commitment to prevent gun violence, ensure access to abortion care, and take action to protect our planet from climate change. The urgency of these issues cannot be understated.

Tandem with these issues is the need to fortify our voting rights, fight against egregious partisan gerrymandering, and defend our democracy. The uncertainty of voting rights in the past year and even in the past month here in North Carolina confirms my job is far from over.
We’ve made incredible progress this year. I’m proud to have three critical voting rights bills in committee and to be a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.
As the Republican party veers into far-right extremism, we must maintain a steady momentum on the issues that matter most.
That starts here. John, will you support my re-election campaign to help me fight against extremist legislation and defend our voting rights?
