Ruth’s List Florida is thrilled to announce our latest endorsement — Karen Castor Dentel for Orange County Supervisor of Elections! She is a seasoned public servant who served in the Florida House and is currently a member of the Orange County School Board.

Karen is an experienced educator who has been a tireless advocate for equity in our public schools and full funding for our students for her entire career. Prior to serving on the Orange County School Board, she served as a Member of the Florida House where she advocated for women’s reproductive freedom in addition to her work to defend Florida’s investment in our public schools. Karen is deeply involved in her community, having served as the Director of Community School Development at the Children’s Home Society of Florida, chairing committees for organizations like the Orange County Regional History Board and the Junior League of Greater Orlando, and serving on the USF College of Education Anchin Center Board and as an association representative for the Orange County Classroom Teachers Association for many years. 

Throughout her career of service, Karen has consistently shown her steadfast dedication to improving the lives of Orange County residents. We need someone with her extensive experience in this role to help defend and expand our sacred right to vote.
