Friend --
I wanted to send you an update now that the dust has settled in the California primary.
Votes are still being counted in our race, but it's now official that I am headed for a rematch with David Valadao.
Just two years ago, Valadao walked away with more votes in the primary election. But our grassroots team went on to win in the General Election. We were heavily outspent, but we worked harder, we listened to voters, and we laid out a clear agenda to make a tangible difference for working families in the Central Valley.
And since my election, we've done just that:
Just last week, the House passed my bill to cut health care costs by making asthma inhalers accessible to families. We passed the Farm Workforce Modernization Act to give a pathway to citizenship to our agricultural workforce. And we're fixing the Friant-Kern Canal to provide clean water to underserved communities in the Valley.
With your help, we've delivered, but we're still in this fight as underdogs. Because the truth is, fighting for working families means fighting powerful special interests in Washington.
So I want to thank our tireless supporters and volunteers who are with me in this fight. Your contributions, the time you spend volunteering, even your conversations about my campaign with friends and neighbors -- it all adds up to winning campaign for the Central Valley.
More soon,
TJ Cox
