Friend, as I’ve said before, my campaign will never trot out fake deadlines, gimmicks, or phony insults in our fundraising emails.

What we will do is make the case for why investing in our campaign actually matters.

Now, October ends tomorrow. We aren’t facing a deadline — our next reporting deadline is on December 31st.

But we are running up against the calendar. If you saw one of my emails last week, you know I mentioned that we’re a little more than two-thirds of the way to our 2023 fundraising goal.

As I also mentioned, 2023 is well over two-thirds of the way over, so we need to pick up the pace to end the year where we need to be.

Not only are we running out of time, we’re also heading into the holiday season. Fundraising will slow around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

All of that to say… while we aren’t facing a deadline now, we will be soon, and it’s critical we make the most of the time we have before people check out for the year.

So I’m asking you, if you can, to please chip in now. Whether it’s $100 or even just $1, it does make a difference, especially for a downballot candidate.

As a lawman and soldier, I didn’t come into this with a donor network. I depend on emails like these, and supporters like you, donating what you can when you can.

And I’d be honored to have your investment now.

Commissioner John King got his start as a beat cop with the Atlanta Police Department. He worked various assignments, including Red Dog and Organized Crime, before joining the Doraville Police Department. Before becoming Chief of Police, he served as a Detective and Deputy Chief.

During his 17 years as Police Chief, Commissioner King tackled corruption, implemented community policing in at-risk neighborhoods, and cracked down on gang violence through early intervention programs at local schools.

In addition to his career in law enforcement, Commissioner King spent four decades serving in the U.S. Army National Guard — enlisting as a private and retiring as a major general.

He deployed to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan  — earning the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, El Salvador gold medal for achievement, meritorious service medals, and a NATO award along the way. Commissioner King retired from active duty in 2023.

As Georgia’s Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, Commissioner King has disrupted the status quo, put Georgia families first, and held the powerful accountable. He was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp in 2019 and elected to a full term in 2022, making him Georgia’s first Hispanic statewide elected official.
