Giant and Safeway workers reach tentative agreement and avert a strike

On Sunday, UFCW Local 400 announced that they "have reached a tentative agreement with Giant and Safeway on a new contract to avert a strike. Our bargaining committee has voted unanimously to recommend the agreement for ratification." The union plans to hold a Tele-Town Hall to review the proposed contract and answer members' questions before voting takes place at stores throughout the region.
