ICYMI on WLFI: Doden Talks LEAP District Water Pipeline in Lafayette, Says State needs a strategy for small towns ([link removed])

WEST LAFAYETTE - Doden says he is against the project and the lack of transparency that has come from its development.

"We're deeply concerned about the current strategy of the IEDC you know using taxpayer dollars to basically become a developer and to then when they develop a property not do do diligence and then come to our smaller communities and say hey we need your water and I think what we're saying is look there needs to be a lot more transparency," says Doden.

Doden goes on to say that we need to make sure that we watch out for growing communities and make sure that they are able to keep the resources they need to develop.

Doden says that while yes we all want to see economic development we don't want it to be at the expense of our smaller communities . . .

Doden says he finds it important for their to be a solid strategy for the 2.6 million people who live in small towns.
