Dear John,

[[link removed]] As Mainers, the horrific mass shootings that occurred in Lewiston this Wednesday evening touched us all and have left us all reeling. Our hearts are with the people of Lewiston, the victims, and their families in this moment of profound loss; and in the days, months, and years that will follow.

We know that there will be a time in the future when the focus will shift to reforms, policies, and elections as we make it our mission to ensure that this type of tragedy will never again happen here in Maine, or to any other American community. We are particularly thankful to President Biden and Maine’s congresspeople, Representatives Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden for their forceful calls for new measures to end gun violence.

However, at the present moment, while we are still in the midst of grief and uncertainty, our ask is much simpler: please help us support Lewiston by giving to one of these local relief organizations.
