Learn to Love While Living with HIV - Webinar for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Studies show that 55% of women living with HIV and 20% of men living with HIV have experienced domestic violence. Additionally, survivors of domestic violence are 48% more likely to be exposed to HIV transmission as compared to those in non-violent relationships. There is a clear connection between these intersecting epidemics that need to be addressed and understood by both the domestic violence and HIV field. Because of this, we're inviting you to the National Network to End Domestic Violence's webinar, Learn to Love While Living with HIV, on Monday, October 30, at 3pm EST. The Love While Living with HIV webinar will include two components. The first half of the webinar will feature a brief presentation on the intersection of domestic violence and HIV presented by Robin Pereira, Positively Safe Specialist. The second half, will be a panel discussion monitored by Barb Cardell, the Co-Executive Director of the Positive Women’s Network. This panel will feature guest speakers Liza Pereira and Meta Smith. Both Spanish interpretation and American Sign Language will be provided for this webinar, additional accessibility requests should be sent to
[email protected] and NNEDV will do their best to accommodate those. We hope you can join, please register here
