What is a government trifecta? When the same political party controls the executive and both chambers of the legislative branch, thus exercising unchecked power in the state.
In Virginia: November 7th Virginia State Senate and House elections could create a trifecta. GLENN YOUNGKIN WOULD LIKE NOTHING MORE THAN TO SPEND HIS LAST TWO YEARS IN OFFICE WITH A VIRGINIA TRIFECTA! He may be term-limited, but his ambitious MAGA agenda could impact Viriginians for decades to come. He’s counting on low turnout and clever marketing.
There are vacancies, enough to swing the entire body Youngkin’s way. A slim five seat majority in the Senate, and a two seat minority in the House with six vacancies, leave NO MARGIN for ERROR, or even a thought of sitting this election out. This is a turnout election and Virginia’s is particularly unpredictable. Thinking both houses won’t go MAGA is not enough. Taking focused action to motivate democracy-loving Virginia voters is the only way.
