My American Dream came true because my mother left our home in Ecuador and bravely brought my sisters and me to this country to give us a chance to build the future she dreamed of.

My American Dream came true because my mother worked day and night to afford rent in our one room apartment and provide us with a better education, a better home, and a better future.

My American Dream came true because I was able to go from working a minimum wage job to help my mom make ends meet to serving in Congress.

My American Dream came true because I had a strong community to lean on, opportunities to grow, and the right to live my life as I wanted.

I'm fighting to protect those same opportunities, which are now out of reach for far too many working families.

See, my opponent has made a career — and a quarter-billion dollars — off trampling vital programs, dividing communities, and threatening the opportunities upon which American Dreams like mine were built.

With a massive fortune built through in-roads with corporate special interests, he's not beholden to hard working Americans.

And that's why I'm running for Senate — because Florida deserves better.

I'm running so that everyone is equipped with the support they need to achieve their dreams. And unlike my opponent, I'm relying on the help of this grassroots community to win in Florida and keep the American Dream alive.
