Friend,

While the Republican primary in the Michigan Senate race is shaping up to be a messy head-to-head between at least two (or more) credible candidates, the latest reporting on one of our potential opponents’ fundraising efforts is particularly concerning: Betsy DeVos’ family contributed $46,200 in one day to Mike Rogers right before the FEC fundraising deadline in September.

Mike Rogers has already started to see a flood of support from deep-pocketed Republican donors like the DeVos family, corporate PACs, and Super PACs who will all spend millions of dollars on his behalf in order to flip Michigan red. In 2020, the DeVos family contributed over $1.6 million to candidates and super PACs to influence races like ours. They’re throwing their full support behind Mike Rogers, because they know he will push their particular policies at the national level.

These contributions are just the beginning of the support Mike Rogers will receive from this powerful family. But this campaign has something Mike Rogers' campaign lacks: lots and lots of regular people giving what they can, when they can.

Just one peek behind-the-curtain of Mike Rogers' FEC report shows he raised less than 5% of his money from individuals making small-dollar donations. The DeVos family on their own contributed more money than grassroots donors in total.

By contrast, the majority of the donations we receive come from people contributing significantly smaller donations than the DeVos family made to Mike Rogers: Our average email donation was $26 last quarter.

And what you may not know is that the single greatest source of those individual donations to our campaign is the response to emails like this. Your help using this link to make a $3 contribution to Elissa's campaign for United States Senate would be a great rebuke to the DeVos support.
