Team, we have good news and bad news.

The good news is that, over the summer, our movement saw a major victory when the Supreme Court upheld Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and invalidated Alabama’s congressional maps for diluting the power of Black voters. As a result, we have a huge opportunity to fight for fairer maps in more states ahead of the 2024 election.

But the bad news is that now the Court is considering a new case that could open the door for unchecked gerrymandering across the country.

Vox: The Supreme Court appears determined to make it easy to draw gerrymanders

“The Republican Party had a great day in the Supreme Court today. Voting rights did not.”

FIGHT BACK! > [link removed]

Team, it’s not clear how the Supreme Court will rule – but it is clear that our fight for fair maps is far from over. Will you pitch in to help the NDRC continue working across the country to prevent gerrymandering, secure fair maps, and strengthen our democracy?

“Our democracy is still at risk . . . There are still people who are determined through gerrymandering, through voter suppression, through attacks on our election infrastructure in our nation to try to come up with ways to hold on to power to which they are not entitled.”

A.G. Holder is right, team – no matter how many victories we win for our democracy, Republicans have made it clear that they’ll never give up on using anti-democratic schemes to gain unearned power. And that means we can’t give up either.

The NDRC’s fight for fairness has always been powered by people like you. Will you donate now to help us continue our democracy-saving work nationwide?
