So, Illinois Democratic Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias fought back with legislation to prohibit book bans -- making Illinois the first state in the country to block these dystopian bills.

  This growing climate of hostility and aggression not only endangers the safety and well-being of individuals in these positions but also undermines the very foundations of our democratic society.
