I'm struggling with how best to tell you this scary new development. I think The Washington Post story says it pretty well: "A federal appeals court in California halted the Trump administration's 'Remain in Mexico' asylum policy on Friday, removing one of the key tools the president has used to curb mass migration across the southern U.S. border."

The court limited its injunction to the 9th judicial circuit... but that includes California and Arizona.

Tens of thousands of immigrants waiting to claim asylum have been amassing at the Mexican border but held back by the "Remain In Mexico" policy. Now, it looks like a large portion of them will be able to enter. Most will just disappear into the interior, never to be heard from again. So, the "Remain in Mexico" program is kind of gutted for now.

Hopefully, the U.S. Supreme Court will overturn this... but, of course, you know that even the Supreme Court is narrowly divided as we head into another presidential election.

If those tens of thousands are let in, there will, of course, be a huge new wave of migration and caravans, as thousands of new people desiring to come here with generally flimsy asylum cases make a rush for San Diego.

We would lose control of the border again!

John, as long as COURTS are setting U.S. immigration policy instead of CONGRESS, everything will always be up in the air. Huge loopholes in old outdated laws will always be exploited.

John, immigration control is teetering on the edge right now. ONLY CONGRESS can bring permanent change that makes sense and will last.

Courts are certainly out of control, although the U.S. Supreme Court has lately been a bright spot on immigration rulings.

Administration policies that we know have so far been effective could be now turned upside down by a change in the presidency. I don't just mean this election; I mean any presidential election in the future.

For instance, Joe Biden celebrated several Super Tuesday victories by promising that if he is elected president, he would seek a "pathway to citizenship" for all 11 million or more illegal aliens in this country.

Our goal can't be about the next election; we must convince BOTH parties that Americans demand an end to the immigration crisis, not worsening it!
