Friend,
Back in August, I proudly joined two of my Democratic colleagues – Reps. Lori Trahan and Adam Schiff – in condemning the disturbing proliferation of hate speech on Twitter.
In the months since we sent our letter, there’s been an explosion of dangerous and violent rhetoric on Twitter.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk fired half of the company’s Election Integrity unit and slashed their Trust and Safety teams in the run-up to a critically important election.
He’s also unilaterally restored banned accounts of neo-Nazis and dangerous extremists, proving once again that his leadership is a direct threat to public safety.
So, folks, I’m asking you to join our fight for decency, truth, and transparency online. Please, will you provide one of the 500 signatures to our petition demanding that Twitter put people and principle over profits?
I appreciate your support in this,
Sean Casten
