Just days ago, we saw another community devastated by a mass shooting. Dozens of people were gunned down by an assault weapon.

Once again, a shooter chose an AR-15 to commit mass violence. The same weapon as the shooters in Sandy Hook, Uvalde, Parkland, Las Vegas, Pulse and so many others.

It’s the mass shooter’s best friend, and it’s long past time that we ban it.

No other country in the world gift wraps powerful lethal firearms to every dangerous person with a grudge or paranoia. It’s just incomprehensible that we don’t realize this carnage is a choice.

You don’t need an AR-15 to hunt or protect your family. You need an AR-15 if you want to kill as many people in as short an amount of time as possible.

We can make a different choice.

We all know that a ban would save lives. The data makes that very clear. But we need to keep the pressure on my colleagues in Congress.

Will you join me today and tell Congress to pass an assault weapons ban? We need as many people as possible to add their name to this fight.

The majority of Americans are on our side. We won a major change to our gun laws last summer, and together, we will do it again.
