Farmer Chooses Sanctuary over Slaughter
Kumar—a sheep farmer for 47 years—struggled with the pain of sending animals he had bonded with to the slaughterhouse. So he gave up livestock farming, and drove his flock to a sanctuary instead.
For many livestock farmers, walking away from a livelihood that has been handed down for generations is a difficult thing to do. Kumar's story is an inspiration.
The actor and activist helped to liberate a cow and her newborn calf from a Los Angeles slaughterhouse and bring them to Farm Sanctuary.
