Hi,

Federal funding for child care EXPIRED on September 30th. Funding from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) invested in over 70,000 child care centers supporting 3.2 million kids and their families, but the ARP funding lapsed last month.

Now, GOP dysfunction, obstruction, and efforts to slash social services has put these 70,000 child care centers at risk of closing.1 Families across the country could now lose their child care.

Sign the petition: Tell Congress to reinstate critical child care funding immediately!

As Senator Elizabeth Warren put it before the GOP nearly shutdown the government trying to slash the social safety net, “Federal child care funding is about to take a nose dive off a cliff” if we allow this relief to expire without doing anything about it.2

But Republicans allowed funding to fall off the cliff, cutting funds that could lead to millions of children losing child care and parents across the country being left in an impossible situation.

Currently, the child care industry is short by more than 50,000 workers, and over 3 million children are without access to child care due to unavailable slots.3 That number will go up now that the GOP has allowed child care funding to lapse. Child care is already too expensive. The industry is already broken. Now, Republicans are breaking the child care industry even more.

This is a clear choice between supporting care for children and leaving families out to dry. Senator Warren and Democrats are fighting for families and the GOP is working to make it even harder to access child care.

Add your name: Pass emergency child care funding now! Ensure that parents aren’t forced out of the workforce because of lack of childcare.

Thanks for taking action,
