We’re pushing back so eligible voters can still make their voices heard.

In a moment, we’ll ask if you can make a donation to help hit our monthly fundraising goal before the end of October. But first, we want to share something that caught our eye and reminded us why we do this work.

A new report shows that in 17 states, the foxes are guarding the henhouse of our democracy.

The States United Democracy Center has been tracking election deniers running for office. That group includes people who echoed Donald Trump’s unfounded conspiracy theories about the 2020 election or who’ve baselessly undermined election results since then.

And their report found that 23 election deniers now serve in statewide offices overseeing elections in 17 states: seven governors, five secretaries of state, and 11 attorneys general. Election deniers have used their positions of authority to hinder election administration, push dangerous unfounded claims of voter fraud, and pull out of an effort to ensure accurate voter rolls.

These anti-voter extremists have no place in elected office. We’re fighting to elect pro-voter candidates in 2023’s state and local races, the 2024 cycle, and beyond. And no matter how hard some politicians try to suppress the vote, we’ll work even harder to make sure eligible voters have the resources they need to cast their ballots.

But this work depends on grassroots support from activists like you. And we haven’t hit our fundraising goal for October. Reaching this target will inform how much we can invest in protecting the freedom to vote.

Before Tuesday’s end-of-month fundraising deadline, can you make a donation of $20 or any amount to help defend free and fair elections?

Together,

The Fair Fight Team
