Happy Sunday, True Texans!

I came across a stranger while I was in another town who was wearing a True Texas Project shirt. Someone I don't know and who does not know me believed in our cause enough to spend money and go out and about in our brand. This is because our volunteers have been building the army all across the great state of Texas. It is awe-inspiring to watch!

And of course, this weekend I got to see dozens of you in True Texas Project shirts at our super-fun Grassroots GameDay! And we won! The True Texans grassroots team took on the Lone Star Fighters team of favorite electeds and barely squeaked out a win, 10-7, in the last inning. The game was brought indoors and turned into wiffle ball, which was hilarious -- but the after party was even better! Thanks to all who helped make this a success. You're fun!

Every now and then I come across someone who is aware of True Texas Project but hasn't truly grasped how big we've become or the impact we make.  Then little by little I watch as they slowly take in all we do. Honestly, it fills me with pride over all our team does on a shoestring budget. I mean, think about it...  we coordinate 18 monthly meetings in 18 different venues with 18 different teams and incredible speakers every single month, we have nearly twice that many socials every month, we do deep-dive training on 6 significant subjects, we are constantly at city halls, county courthouses, and the state capitol, we put out weekly calls to action you can do from your own home, we give election information for dozens of locations, and we're all over social media. And we've got 3 huge goals + 2 smaller ones on our list for 2024. (Reply to this email if you want to know what they are!) Most groups are single-issue groups, which is great, but sometimes I dream of how easy that would be! That's just not our calling.  Our calling is to build an army to save Texas.  It's a big state and a big calling, and it's awesome to have you alongside us!

Fran's Friday Message

Did you know that there is another election happening in the next few weeks that has a direct impact on YOUR property taxes?  Every odd numbered year, new Board of Director members are elected to the County Appraisal Districts.  But they are not elected by YOU the taxpayers!  The Board members are nominated and then voted on by the taxing governments to whom you pay property taxes.

Not always, but often, we find a lot of back room, sketchy dealing for these nominations so that the taxing entities can get the people on the board that benefits them.  We think taxpayers should be in charge of these decisions!  That's why we're calling your attention to it.  Most voters don't even know this is happening.

I'm always torn on how many times to remind you about deadlines! Our society has been trained to not pay attention because things are always repeated. Help a girl out and get these checked off!  LOL

• Sen Rand Paul in 1 week! Yes, it's already nearly Nov 5! Rand offered to do a book-signing as a fundraiser for True Texas Project. How cool is that? Get tickets here. All guests get a copy of his book, and VIP tickets get it autographed! Our goal is to sell 100 tickets. We need to sell 33 more to hit that mark.  It's all for a good cause... saving Texas!  :-)

True Texans Taking Charge - Election 2024

Each week we've been introducing you to one of the challengers of the Dirty Dozen state house reps as outlined in the documentary The Texas Heist. 

If you've not been keeping up with these challengers, take this week to fix that. It's been so fun for me to see all the people clicking on the links I've provided so far! These candidates are stepping up to go against the worst of the worst.  It's no small task, and they need your support, no matter where you live.  Can you give em $10 each?  Can you get to their district to spend a Saturday blockwalking? Will you share their campaign on social media?  Every bit of action helps!
