I have 15 minutes of free time, friend. It may not sound like much, but gaps in my schedule are rare.

So, as I’m sitting here drinking my tea, I’m reflecting on this historic campaign and my decision to run for the Senate. It wasn’t a decision I made lightly because when you’re a Black woman in politics, you’re used to being underestimated.

The road ahead won’t be easy – Black women candidates on average raise just one-third as much money as white women. But I’ve never been one to back down from a tough fight.
