The House Has a New Speaker

As you might have heard, the U.S. House of Representatives elected a new Speaker of the House this week, Rep. Mike Johnson from Louisiana. Speaker Johnson is a steadfast conservative and an excellent choice to lead the House and our nation. I was proud to vote for him on the House Floor.

Lesko in Committee

I encouraged my colleagues in the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Energy Subcommittee to stand on the side of choice for consumers and reliable appliances by supporting my new legislation, the Hands Off Our Home Appliances Act. We already saved gas stoves, now it’s time to save the rest of America’s appliances!

Everyone knows burdensome regulations are expensive. I’m pleased that the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Energy Subcommittee advanced my bill to request the Nuclear Regulatory Commission produce 3 reports aimed at increasing agency efficiency.

GET THE FACTS: Ongoing Conflict in Israel

On October 7, the Islamic Resistance Movement, more commonly known by the Arabic acronym, Hamas, attacked Israel with a barrage of rockets, as well as an assault on many areas near the border. This attack was the deadliest day in Israeli history and left more than 1,400 of its citizens dead, with over 220 being taken captive. In the wake of that attack, more warfare has ensued. At least 29 American citizens have been affected by the Hamas attacks; likely many more unreported have been killed or taken hostage. Please join me in praying for the people of Israel.
