Last year, Sharice co-sponsored her first bill, the For the People Act.

This legislation provides important protections for our electoral system, including expanding voting rights and getting big money out of our politics.

Sharice and her Democratic colleagues believe in the right to free and fair elections so much that the For the People Act became the first bill introduced in the 116th Congress. But in the year since, the Senate has stayed silent.

Sharice kept her promise to protect our votes, our voices, and our democracy. Now, it’s time for the Senate to step up.

Sharice has prioritized listening to Kansas families and advocating for them in Washington. But without national legislation to protect the voice of voters, far too many people are losing access to the ballot box, while big money still holds too much influence on our elections.

In such a pivotal election year, we need this legislation now more than ever. It’s time for the Senate to do its job.
