There's more on just how extreme the new Speaker of the House is that Republicans elected after weeks of chaos.
Mike Johnson is now second in line for the presidency and he:
- voted to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Not only that, he led the charge. The New York Times called him “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections."
- led 100 House Republicans to formally urge the Supreme Court to overturn the 2020 election.
- has blamed mass shootings on teaching evolution and on abortion.
- supported cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- supports a national abortion ban and called for “hard labor” for doctors who perform abortions.
- wants to end marriage equality.
- introduced a national "Don’t Say Gay" bill.
- was on Trump's impeachment defense team in the House.
- advocated for the return of prayer in public schools
- derided the "so-called separation of church and state" on the House floor
- is currently trying to impeach President Biden.
To fix this Republican mess, we must put pro-democracy Democrats in charge in 2024.
- Congressman Matt Cartwright won in 2022 with 51% of the vote.
- Congressman Chris Deluzio won in 2022 with 53% of the vote.
- Congresswoman Angie Craig won in 2022 with 51% of the vote.
- Congresswoman Susan Wild won in 2022 with 52% of the vote.
- Congresswoman Andrea Salinas won in 2022 with 50% of the vote.
- Congresswoman Hillary Scholten (D-MI) flipped a red district in 2022 with 55% of the vote!
- Congressman Gabriel Vasquez (D-NM) flipped a red district in 2022 with 50.3% of the vote!
Thanks for being a bold progressive and helping to save our democracy.
