Learn more about what my office has been up to this week Dear john, Once again, our nation is enduring the aftermath of a mass shooting. My heart is with the survivors and family members of victims in Lewiston, Maine. While we pray for those who are grieving, we also pray for the courage to act. As your representative in Congress, I fight for bipartisan solutions that keep American families safe and help to end gun violence. On Tuesday of this week, I joined a bipartisan group of Representatives and Senators in introducing legislation to improve the reporting and prevention of hazing on college campuses. The Stop Campus Hazing Act will increase transparency and accountability by providing parents and students with better information about a college's history of hazing incidents. We must do everything we can so that families know their kids are being kept safe when they go off to college. To learn more about this important legislation, see this press release from my office. Wednesday, I was very proud to announce that the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority will receive a $1.75 million Regional Infrastructure Accelerator Program grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. This new funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will create the Metro Atlanta Transit Oriented Development Finance Accelerator. Back in May, I wrote Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to request this funding, and I am thrilled to see how our community will reap the benefits of this federal award. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with my office.
