THOSE IN AUTHORITY
======
We pray for those in authority for the good of our fellow citizens, and for the freedom to live out and share the Gospel.
Pray first “…for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness” 1 TIMOTHY 2:2
** Please pray:
======
* For King Charles III, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and First Ministers, that God would bless them with wisdom, insight and integrity;
* That God would raise up fearless political leaders who seek to do what is right;
* That our lawmakers will strive to restrain evil and promote what is good;
* That God would protect and sustain believers working in public service.
** Monday

GOSPEL FREEDOM
We are called to act as salt and light.
“…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” MATTHEW 5:16
Please pray:
======
* That proposed laws against ‘conversion therapy’ would not disrupt the ordinary work of churches;
* For more Christians to speak and act with wisdom and courage in defence of biblical truth;
* That our good laws on free speech – particularly the freedom to share the Gospel – would be upheld by the police and the courts;
* For the work of our legal team in defending Christian freedoms;
* For your own opportunities to be a Christian influence in a secular world.
Tuesday

GENDER IDEOLOGY
Transgenderism seeks to destroy the God-given distinctions between men and women.
“male and female he created them” GENESIS 1:27
Please pray:

* Giving thanks that radical gender ideology is being increasingly challenged and rejected;
* That children will not be prescribed dangerous puberty-blocking and cross-sex hormones;
* For positive media coverage of all those upholding the truth that it is impossible to change sex.
Wednesday

ASSISTED SUICIDE
Human life is precious because we are made in the image of God.
“…All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” PSALM 139:16
Please pray:
======
* With gratitude that assisted suicide is still illegal in the UK;
* Giving thanks that Humza Yousaf and Health Minister Michael Matheson have spoken out against assisted suicide in Scotland. Pray for strong cross-party opposition to Liam McArthur’s Bill;
* That other attempts to legalise euthanasia and assisted suicide in Jersey, the Isle of Man and Ireland would also fail.
Thursday

SCHOOLS
Schools are under enormous pressure to promote LGBT ideology.
“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them’” MATTHEW 19:14a
Please pray:
======
* That children would hear the Gospel in schools and be protected from ungodly teaching and materials;
* That pupils and teachers would not be compelled to affirm gender ideology;
* For many Christians to respond to the sex ed consultation in Northern Ireland, and that officials take on board their concerns;
* For the work of our education team in assisting parents, teachers and governors;
* Giving thanks for the faithful stand and reinstatement of ‘Susan’, the parent governor dismissed for challenging gender ideology.
Friday

SOCIETY
Our Christian heritage has blessed our nation for centuries, and still does today.
“…seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” JEREMIAH 29:7
Please pray:
======
* Giving thanks for our strong gospel freedoms and Christian heritage;
* Thanking God for his good gift of marriage to society. Pray that Parliament would not back attempts to impose same-sex marriage on the Church of England;
* For much tougher restrictions on gambling and pornography;
* For true repentance and spiritual revival across the UK.
Saturday
