BBC documentary highlights our tiger work!

Yesterday (Wednesday, 4 March) saw the premiere of the major new BBC2 documentary Tigers: Hunting the Traffickers. Debbie Banks, our Tiger Campaigns Leader and an internationally recognised expert in the field, made a big contribution to the programme’s research and also features in it. Tigers: Hunting the Traffickers follows former Royal Marines commando Aldo Kane exposing the shocking secrets of the illegal tiger trade in South-East Asia and those who profit from it. Myanmar teak importers must trace legality

EIA has been at the forefront of efforts to keep illegally felled teak from Myanmar out of European markets and we’re delighted to see a Dutch court rule that importers must be able to trace the legality of the luxury timber all the way back to felling.
