The only thing keeping Common Dreams from the fate of other outlets is
the support of readers like you.

Friend,
Last month, New York Public Radio announced that 12% of its workforce
would be laid off.
In August, The Texas Tribune announced it had cut 11 employees and was
pausing production of two of its podcasts.
In June, National Geographic laid off its entire staff of writers and
The Los Angeles Times announced it would be cutting 74 positions in its
newsroom.
In April, Buzzfeed News shut down entirely and Vice Media filed for
bankruptcy.
In March, NPR canceled four of its podcasts and began laying off 100
employees.
This list represents just a sampling of the shutdowns and layoffs
we're seeing all around us in the journalism industry, and the only
thing keeping Common Dreams from a similar fate is the support of
readers like you.
Please make a donation today. To keep the lights on at Common Dreams, we
must raise $80,000 by November 1. There's no plan B.
