Clearinghouse on Male Circumcision for HIV Prevention

** VMMC at CROI 2020

CROI 2020

Dear Colleague,

Voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) for HIV prevention will be highlighted in two poster sessions at the annual Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI), which is being held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, from 8 to 11 March 2020.

One of the sessions, “VMMC and the Penile Microbiome,” features posters on the long-term effectiveness of VMMC for HIV prevention, a cluster randomized trial to increase VMMC uptake among men older than 18, and a potential biological mechanism for VMMC’s protective effect against HIV. The other session, on “Factors Affecting HIV Transmission,” includes two posters about VMMC.

Both poster sessions will be held on Tuesday, 10 March. A schedule ([link removed]) of these sessions is available on the Clearinghouse.

Best regards,

Clearinghouse Webmaster
